Message an issue. Since the car had been running/driving doubtful it was installed that badly. Perhaps more likely the belt slipped a tooth or two if the belt tensioner wasn't tightened down.

Perhaps run a compression test? Even if done while the engine is cold it will still help identify any issues.

The car dying while driving really sounds like an alternator issue - maybe the drive belt isn't tight enough? That would have come off for t-belt access.

Two things to also inspect. The PTU and CAS electrical connectors. Both would have been undone for the t-belt job and perhaps came undone after the car was driven? CAS would be the most likely candidate. Also make sure the CAS itself is well tightened down since its how the engine timing is adjusted.

FYI: You can inspect a portion of the timing belt by removing the driver side t-belt cover. Passenger side cover can't come off without a lot of extra work and things undone.
